I loved working on the score for Paddington a lot. I had the pleasure of going to London with composer Nick Urata and recorded and mixed the entire score at AIR. The experience was very special for me and the sound of AIR is like nothing else in the world. The Accountant is another that I am very proud of. I think that it came out especially well sonically.

The score for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, The Accountant, Paddington and Joy.

How did you first hear of DMGAudio?

I was reading an issue of CineMontage and saw the EQuality EQ featured in a "Tech Corner" article. The description of it sounded like a home run, so I got the demo of it and tried it out on a mix. It sounded so incredible I purchased it right away and it has become my go-to EQ for EVERYTHING.

How would you describe our plugins?

They are studio plug-in essentials. Must have products that make your mixing easier and sound far superior, without taking your computer to its knees from a CPU perspective. They are very accurate, high resolution audio products and are very easy to use and understand. The visual frequency analyzer of EQuality is the best of any plug-in the world. I have turned countless clients and fellow engineers onto DMG.

What are your favourite DMGAudio plugins and how do they integrate with your workflow?

I use EQuality on virtually every single channel of my mixes -- so sometimes I have literally hundreds of instances of it going in a single session. I also love it as a buss EQ and on my subgroups - for my orchestra, drums and vocals etc.

TrackControl is also amazing for quickly adjusting a pad that might be out of phase on just the right channel or a little loud on the left channel. Having that control in a plug-in is essential!

Are there any tips for using our plugins that you’d like to share?

I love to use EQuality as a low pass filter on synth sounds like you might do with an analog synthesizer. I will turn the LPF on and turn the Q up a bit to get some resonance and then sweep the filter down to get that warm analog filter ride sound. I also love to use it after my reverb returns to filter out the low end "muddiness" or shave a little bit of top end off, so that the reverb sits in the mix better.

What are you hoping to see from us in the future?

An analog "harmonic generator" and a 5.1 reverb!
